personal evolution is first, an evolution of consciousness

22 March 2015

A few nights ago I was out with some friends, and we had gone to see a comedy show. The comedian we saw, was someone whom I had seen about 2 years ago and, at the time, had literally fallen off my seat laughing hysterically and thought he was the funniest guy on the planet! My cheeks were swollen and sore the next day I laughed so much!
Fast forward to a couple of days ago and boy did I have a massive realisation about how much I had changed. As I sat there watching this same comedian, I barely cracked a smile because I realised, that I just didn’t find the swearing, the crude innuendos and the whole bravado funny anymore. Don’t get me wrong, I am always up for a good joke and fun times, but I realised how much I had evolved mentally, emotionally, spiritually and I even said to my friend, how I know my level of consciousness has shifted and heightened because of what I view as a ‘great night out’ – and that sure wasn’t it!  Whilst the highlight of the night was spending it with two very dear friends and I wouldn’t trade that for anything in the world, I couldn’t wait to get out of that audience, get home, kick off the heels and curl up on the couch with a good book and herbal tea and honour, what it is that truly makes me happy and not feel bad for doing so.
I have let this simmer for a couple of days to give myself time to process it and more than ever I am beautifully reminded of how important it is, to allow ourselves to evolve, grow and constantly re-evaluate and re-invent ourselves! We can’t keep fighting the old. The old ways of thinking, acting, doing, living, speaking, eating etc if they no longer serve us in a positive way and do not make us happy. We must ‘build the new’ and to give ourselves the space to expand, welcome new experiences, new people, new relationships and new ideas into our lives so that we can become more of who we truly are. We will never grow if we don’t allow ourselves to move beyond that which we have already mastered, so take a moment to assess the way you are in the world. Look at the types of people you’re attracting into your life, the relationships that you have, the way you eat, the way you think, the way you speak and the way you act – and ask yourself, if they are supporting your growth and waking you up, or if you are staying stuck in the familiarity, which also comes with safety, fear, keeping yourself limited and small. Any form of change is always going to be uncomfortable at first but the only way to grow, is to go through all the unfamiliar territory   so that you can get to where you want to go. First, you must start with a change in the mind; the thought process which precedes any action and behaviour because what you think is what you will attract and the attitude you bring to a situation will always determine the outcome. When you allow yourself to align your thinking with your truth and knowing inner presence, self-mastery will be assured. You are a limitless Spirit and it is your birthright to wake up, rise up, and live the life you dream of living. Yes you might ruffle a few feathers along the way but that is fine. It is not your problem to convince someone else or to get someone else to understand YOUR journey. This is about YOU and what is right for you, and as long as you are not hurting anyone else, then you are free to do as you please. The Divine Spirit gave you your visions and dreams for a reason and it is up to you to make sense of them, and no one else. THERE IS GREATNESS IN YOU!  xx
